Although not based in any way upon verifiable historical incident, the Greek Omphale-hercules myth has always been one the folklore tales that has always highly intrigued me. From the moment I encountered it in grade school days, it had a seminal impact upon my sexual fears and fantasies. The enslavement, feminization and sex-role reversal forced upon supposedly the “world’s strongest male” at the hands of a Female to the point where hercules ended subject to even the lowliest of Omphale’s handmaidens shook my concepts of sexual dynamics.
Believe me, the tension of fear and fascination of the account was quite an experience of imprinting upon my development.
